ABSOLUTE SOFTWARE CORP., a Vancouver-based company that helps track and recover lost or stolen laptops, has named a former Dell Computer executive as its operations chief.

Carter McCrary has 20 years of industry experience, including 11 with Texas-based Dell, where he led a sales, marketing and operations team of 1,200 employees across seven sites in five countries.

McCrary joined Absolute this year and has created an office for the company in Austin, Tex.

POTASH ONE INC. has appointed Max Ramey as vice-president responsible for solution mining at its Legacy Potash project in southern Saskatchewan.

Ramey has more than 23 years of experience in the solution mining industry.

Before joining Potash One, Ramey held the position of principal adviser at Rio Tinto.
