A 23-year-old man was arrested after gunshots were fired during an altercation in the city's west end.

A group of men were arguing in front of stores on Eglinton Ave W. near Keele St. around 4 p.m. when witnesses say as many as five gunshots were fired into the air, scattering the men, who quickly fled the scene.

One suspect took off into a nearby alley behind the stores and the police emergency task force and tracking dogs were brought in to find him.

The man was located hiding in the alley a short time later and a gun was recovered from the scene, police say.

No injuries were reported.

So far police have not made any other arrests in connection to the incident.
