Athletes banding together for a worthy cause

BEIJING–Canadian Olympic flag-bearer Adam van Koeverden is among a number international athletes donating memorabilia from the Beijing Summer Games to a charity organization.
The Olympic kayaking champion will offer his flag-bearer's sash worn during the opening ceremonies to the Right To Play organization, which will be included in an online auction to raise money.
"I had the opportunity to experience what Right To Play does first hand when I visited Liberia in 2007," said van Koeverden.
Right To Play is an international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play programs to improve health, develop life skills and foster peace for children around the world.
