Julian Fantino doesn't get it. All he sees is that the protest ended without violence. However, the ends should never be used to justify the means.

It's not his right to threaten to use possibly illegal means to end it. While Fantino thinks that all is well because nobody was injured or killed, as OPP commissioner he has a duty to ensure that his officers are not abusing their ability to perform wiretaps.

Simply saying he didn't know is not good enough. He had a responsibility to know.

Premier Dalton McGuinty made an error in appointing someone with Fantino's bellicose reputation. It's time he rectified his mistake.
