Re:Reserve teens want school building

Nov. 27

I am faced with a puzzle. When communities in Toronto need water, sewage systems or schools, that is what they get. What leaves me puzzled is that so often when a native or "fly-in" community needs water, sewage systems or schools, what they get are "working groups" or royal commissions to study the need. Needs exist. Needs have been identified – by the residents in the communities.

I think Canada continues to fail our native and remote communities by seemingly endless planned delays. For what? For the problem to go away, for the people to die, or perhaps the problem can be solved by moving the community.
