A 41-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being shot in the foot during an altercation in Malton last night.
The man and his friends were in the parking lot of a plaza on Derry Rd. E., near Airport Rd., when they were confronted by another group of men just after 11 p.m., police say.
The men assaulted the victim and when he attempted to defend himself, one grabbed a gun from a nearby car and shot him in the foot.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police have not made any arrests.
